  2. First the photocopy of FBI document will get Notary certificate ( Notary will insist that He has verified the original and this is a true photocopy of the original document )

Process of getting Embassy Attestation for FBI criminal background check Certificate

If you are travelling to countries outside the Hague Nation list ( countries such as UAE, Qatar ) then after the apostille you need Embassy attestation from the embassy of the particular country you are travelling. This Embassy attestation must be done by the Embassy in the US only.

This is called as full legalisation process.

Process for obtaining full legalisation of FBI Criminal background check certificate for non-Hague countries in India:

As non-Hague countries aren’t part of the Hague Convention, a simple apostille by the state or federal government isn’t sufficient for legalisation.   • – Embassy attestation (submission to the Embassy of the destination country).

Federal documents like FBI Criminal Background checks don’t require state apostille (SOS) and proceed directly to USDOS for authentication for original document.
